The Smithsonian’s Cooper Hewitt, National Design Museum, showcases the best in design from all over the world.
To promote an Alexander Rodchenko exhibit, we designed three conceptual invitations that encouraged people to interact with the invitations they received. Applying intriguing elements of form and function, Mars Design crafted an invitation that expanded into a three-dimensional tetradecagon and featured many of the Russian artist’s works. A second invitation encouraged recipients to create a montage of the artist’s works. The third invitation was a collage of Rodchenko’s works that folded out into four postcards. Despite the variety of form, all three invitations displayed the same Rodchenko-inspired design, drawing recipients to the constructivist era.
